Since 1795, the Rancé family has dedicated itself to the development of the finest bath and body products, which historically were favored by Napoleon. Originally founded in Grasse by François Rancé, this family owned perfume house now operates in Milan. Each generation continues the Rancé family tradition of utilizing only the highest quality flowers, cultivated in the Grasse countryside, to produce extracts, distilled flower waters, cologne waters, perfumed creams, soaps and aromatherapy products.
François Rancé dedicated this perfume to the woman most loved by Napoleon: EMPRESS JOSEPHINE.
The full essence of May rose, with hawthorn and jasmine, create a penetrating delicate Spring flower harmony. Ylang ylang and hyacinth surround them in an atmosphere of joy and sensuality, which is grafted onto the variegated body of iris, blackcurrant and violet leaves. Ebony, sandalwood and musk highlight the rousing base and Bourbon vanilla and ambergris complete its magic appeal to sensuousness, in an atmosphere rich in elegance.
Top Notes: May rose, jasmine, ylang ylang, hyacinth, peony, lilac, hawthorn, bergamot
Middle Notes: Iris, violet leaves, geranium, black currant, white peach, cloves, galbanum
Base Notes: Sandalwood, bourbon vanilla, ebony, ambergris, white musk
Each soap carries the crest of Empress Josephine and is packaged in a rose and gold box. All Rancé soaps are handmade, air dried, triple milled, hand wrapped and very long lasting.
